Terms of Use

What using this blog means

Reading Operationcarepackages means you accept that the posts are shared in good faith as general guidance for people supporting troops, veterans and volunteer efforts, and that you will use them with your own judgement. These terms set out the basis on which the blog is offered. Questions can go to [email protected].

General information, not official or professional advice

Posts about packing, shipping, benefits, remembrance and volunteering are general information and personal opinion. They are not legal, medical, financial or official government advice, and they are not a statement from any military branch, postal carrier or charity. Customs rules, size limits, prohibited items and eligibility for veterans’ services change and differ by destination, so confirm details with the carrier or the responsible agency before sending a parcel or applying for support. Check food and toiletry items for expiry, allergens and local restrictions at the destination.

Who owns the material

The articles, their layout and any original images are the operator’s work or are used by permission. You may read the posts, quote a short passage with a clear mention of the blog, and share links. Copying full posts, republishing them or using them for profit requires written permission.

Using the blog responsibly

Hacking, scraping at a rate that slows the site, planting malicious code and mass unsolicited messaging are all off limits. Do not use the blog to collect addresses of service members or to harass anyone. Access may be restricted where needed to protect the blog and its readers.

What you send us

When you send a correction, question or idea, you confirm you are entitled to share it. We may read it and draw on it when improving the blog, but we are not obliged to answer or to print it. Please leave out personal details about serving personnel.

Sponsors, commissions and where links lead

The blog may carry advertising and affiliate links, and a purchase made through one could earn the operator a small commission while costing you nothing extra. Those links do not shape what a post says. Links may lead to shipping carriers, retailers selling items for boxes, charities, drive organisers or government pages about veterans’ services. Each of those is run by someone else, so its prices, claims, stock and handling of donations are the responsibility of that organisation, and you should check them before you buy, donate or hand over personal details.

No guarantees and limits on liability

The posts are offered without any promise that they are accurate, complete or always available. To the extent the law allows, the operator is not liable for loss arising from using the blog or relying on a post, such as a parcel delayed or returned. Nothing here removes rights you have under law that cannot be waived, or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Changes and severability

These terms or the blog itself may be changed whenever the operator sees fit, and the revised wording applies from the moment it is posted. If one clause here ever turns out to be unusable, the remaining clauses keep working as written.
